Writing stories is the same as tending to a garden—with a little effort you can make a book that blossoms!
With just twenty-six letters and a handful of punctuation marks, you have the power to take readers on an adventure, help them make sense of the world, and conjure genuine emotions.
Captivating stories draw readers into a secret garden of words.
Books and stories have always captivated and enchanted me. Their ability to transport and transform has always seemed to me the most fantastic example of magic.
Hi, I'm Rachel. At Wildflower Editorial, I provide professional editorial and writing services to aspiring and established children's, young adult, and new adult fiction authors, from all around the world. Whether you are pursuing traditional publication or intend to self-publish, I can help you write the book of your heart.
I help passionate fiction authors tell stories, connect with their readers, and improve their craft.
While anyone can follow the formula to write a book, amazing books require a little something extra—that element that makes your book thrive.
I can help you cultivate your words into books that blossom.
Rachel is super informative, her responses were helpful, considerate, and thoughtful. There wasn’t a single “blanket statement” in my entire edit which made me feel heard and seen. I appreciate every thought she put into the work she performed on my edit.

Rachel got back to me very quickly and was very friendly and professional. Her feedback was very thorough and helpful to me. In the end, my manuscript flows so much better. If you are new to writing, I definitely recommend getting your manuscript edited by Rachel.

Let's make book magic! From the Editor
MY EDITING PHILOSOPHY
At its root, an editor's role is to help an author communicate with their intended audience.
As an editor, I want to help you take your manuscript from bud to blossom and cultivate a book to delight your readers.
I am committed to preserving your unique style and voice––helping you to refine your words or story, so your manuscript resonates with readers.
My philosophy as an editor sits in line with famous editor Maxwell Perkins––the man who edited Hemingway––who said:
"An editor does not add to a book. At best, he serves as a handmaiden to an author. Don't ever get to feeling important about yourself, because an editor, at most, releases energy. A writer's best work comes entirely from himself (sic) . . . because in the end, an editor can only get as much out of an author as the author has in him (sic)."

Rachel is incredibly professional and highly efficient – I really enjoyed this process. The initial report provided was full of value and I don’t believe my manuscript would be where it is today without the guidance provided. I’ll definitely be using Rachel’s services again.

I liked the detailed explanation of the various parts of the narrative. Rachel explained the requirements of a picture book very clearly.
